olice are investigating after a letter was delivered to the previous Tory management candidate Penny Mordaunt threatening to “shoot her within the head”.

A Hampshire police spokeswoman mentioned: “At 11.50am on July 22, we acquired a report of a letter containing threats to kill a Portsmouth girl and her household which was despatched to her workplace in Lakeside, North Harbour.
“We attended and safeguarding measures have been put in place to minimise the chance to the girl and her household, staff and the broader neighborhood.
“Our inquiries into this incident are ongoing and it has been referred to the Parliamentary Liaison Workforce.
“We take the safeguarding of our MPs extremely critically and there are strong programs in place to make sure they will perform their job safely.”
Ms Mordaunt’s workplace has been approached for remark by PA.
